Employability & Empowerment - Pragati

The project Pragati is aimed at helping the marginalised and underprivileged sections of the society avail benefits of welfare schemes such as pension, insurance schemes, domestic gas connections, bank account opening, construction of toilets in homes, etc.

We also facilitate the implementation of schemes such as Ujwala Yojana, MGNREGA, Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojna, Jeevan Jyoti Beema and Jeevan Suraksha Yojna.

CFCL has taken the lead to organise rural communities in to self-help groups (SHGs) to promote financial inclusion and empowerment. Currently, 44 SHGs are functional in the villages around Gadepan.

The SHGs also train women in bag / paper bag making, dona-pattal making, food processing, spices / pickle making, tailoring, amongst others. The company also runs an apparel manufacturing unit in Gadepan village and provides employment to about 35 women on a regular basis at Garment Production House, School Bag Manufacturing unit and Sanitary Napkin Manufacturing Units.. School uniforms and other apparel stitched at the garment unit are sold at nominal cost to the residents. The hand made products made by the women of these SHGs are sold under the brand name Kriti.
